Allentown, PA - Public Art & Activation Program

Beginning in 2020, the City of Allentown, PA, initiated a public art program to create works of art across the city. By working with Allentown’s Business Development Manager for Community and Economic Development, we identified public and private projects where we could leverage original works of art to build greater excitement and attention.

I developed and implemented a multi-year public art program across the city, which included murals, sculpture, and community-informed work. Collaboration across city agencies built support and helped to engage artists and cultural groups. Working with stakeholders and artists, I developed arts-based community engagement programs for children and young adults. All works were commissioned through public RFP/RFQ processes to ensure program transparency and increase visibility. This project began in 2020 and was completed in 2022.
