LightPlay by Lajos Heder and Mags Harries

LightPlay occupies a special place in Philadelphia, at the intersection of the Avenue of the Arts and South Street. The sculpture, made of a custom assembly of dichroic glass, changes in color and projection throughout the day with the sun’s changing light. At some times of the day, it creates a colorful glow across the facade of South Star Lofts. At other times it creates a colorful array on the sidewalk. In overcast conditions, the sculpture is an exuberant sculptural ribbon on the building’s facade. It is a constantly-changing joyful play of light.
