The Avenue of the Arts

Philadelphia, PA

Julia Guerrero from Civic Centered was selected as the Public Art Curator for the Avenue of the Arts to develop a multi-year public art initiative resulting in temporary and permanent public artworks along the 14-block stretch from City Hall to Washington Avenue. The public art program is a core component of the Avenue of the Arts 2.0, a grand re-envisioning of one of Philadelphia’s grand boulevards.

The Avenue of the Arts 2.0 re-envisions Avenue of the Arts as a modern, dynamic, arts-focused destination that will continue to attract visitors, residents, and businesses. This vision plan positions Avenue of the Arts as the front door to the “Center Stage” of Philadelphia’s cultural and performing arts scene.
