Featured Project: Redisplay of Art Deco architectural objects from the now-demolished Philadelphia Civic Center
Location: 3600 Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia
Client: University of Pennsylvania Health System
Date: 2021
The objects were conserved by Materials Conservation, and included stained glass windows, a ticket booth, small architectural objects and a large terra cotta frieze. I designed the layout and composition of the installation, located in a ground-floor gallery at the University of Pennsylvania Health System’s new building at 3600 Civic Center Boulevard. Through research into the structure itself as well as its impact on the city of Philadelphia I wrote all content for exhibit’s interpretative panels and sourced graphics and images. The exhibit was installed by the wonderful art conservation team from Materials Conservation.
